Spontaneous Emission from Resonance (Metastable) Electronic States

We expand the fundamental theory of light-matter interactions by rigorously deriving spontaneous emission from quantum resonance states. The generalized Fermi golden rule unveils nontrivial dependence between the photon lifetime and the native resonance decay.
