Slotted Ribbon Grating Light Valve for Compact Display

A new slotted ribbon grating light valve design creates narrow multiple line-pair pixels. Pitches of 2um are constructed. Stable operation is shown with an externally driven 3.9μm pitch device that is evaluated for compact display.
