Real-time dual-comb ranging at 5 kHz update rate and with interferometric precision using a compact free-running laser

We present a dual-comb-ranging system for dead-zone-free and real-time absolute distance measurements at 5-kHz update-rate, with sub-µm-precision and phase-tracking over >40 m. It is based on a GPU-accelerated algorithm and a prototyped single-cavity dual-comb laser.

Abstract

We present a dual-comb-ranging system for dead-zone-free and real-time absolute distance measurements at 5-kHz update-rate, with sub-µm-precision and phase-tracking over >40 m. It is based on a GPU-accelerated algorithm and a prototyped single-cavity dual-comb laser.
