High-Q Ring Resonators in Low-Loss Monolithic Barium Titanate on Silicon
We investigate loss mechanisms in monolithic photonic structures fabricated from barium titanate (BTO) grown epitaxially by RF-sputtering on silicon-on-insulator sub-strates. Record values for loss, below 0 . 15dB/cm in racetrack resonators (RtRs), and for Q , above ∼ 100,000 in ring resonators (RRs), are reported.
