Cross talking compound metasystems for asymmetric control of diffraction orders

We show a new class of compound metasystems that take advantage of the crosstalk between closely coupled metasurfaces, enabling passive asymmetric transmission and engineering of the far-field diffraction response in subwavelength thickness metasystems.
