High speed photonic spiking neuron based on QD spin VCSELs for neuromorphic computing

We present a theoretical study on the high-speed photonic spiking neuron based on a dual-state QD spin-VCSEL, emphasizing its working principles and the influence of pump components on spike information processing. We examine how the control of pump ellipticity enables precise modulation of spiking dynamics, including excitation, and rate-coding, which are critical for neuromorphic tasks.

Abstract

We present a theoretical study on the high-speed photonic spiking neuron based on a dual-state QD spin-VCSEL, emphasizing its working principles and the influence of pump components on spike information processing. We examine how the control of pump ellipticity enables precise modulation of spiking dynamics, including excitation, and rate-coding, which are critical for neuromorphic tasks.
