High-performance arbitrary two-order LP modes multiplexing via Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm

Propelled by the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and the extensive proliferation of the Internet of Things, global data traffic has witnessed an exponential growth spurt. Meanwhile, traditional fiber optic multiplexing technologies are approaching the Shannon limit. In response, this paper proposes an arbitrary two-order LP modes multiplexing scheme based on the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm, utilizing computational holography technology. By dynamically switching the phase plane of a spatial light modulator, dynamic mode multiplexing is achieved. Experimental results demonstrate that crosstalk is below -18 dB and mode purity exceeds72%. This scheme offers a novel mode selection approach for modular division multiplexing systems and provides critical technical support for the implementation of next-generation optical communication systems.
