Ensaio
The objective of this article is to address the philosophy of history of 1784, taking into account the model of the formation of the planetary system from 1755. To this end, we start with the explicit correlations that Kant establishes in his text Idea for a Universal History with a Cosmopolitan Aim (1784), based on the ideas presented in Universal Nature History and Theory of the Heavens (1755). Based on these correspondences, we investigate the scope of Kantian statements that point to parallels, references, and differences with the explanatory method of the movement of celestial bodies. First of all, we will consider the distinct epistemological platforms, namely the pre-critical period for Theory of the Heavens and the critical period for Idea. Therefore, through the 1784 text, we will present a systematic investigation of a philosophy of history in parallel with the planetary system of 1755.
