Quantum optics with free electrons
Free electrons have emerged as a powerful tool to perform quantum metrology and quantum-optics operations. We will discuss the fundamental principles ruling the interactions between free electrons, light, and photonic nanostructures, with an emphasis on leveraging electron decoherence for metrology and the interaction with quantum light to design a new platform for quantum nanophotonics.
