X-ray imaging/microscopy developments using advanced Kirkpatrick–Baez mirrors
X-ray reflective mirror optics provide high reflectivity and achromatic performance for X-ray nanoimaging. Advanced Kirkpatrick–Baez (AKB) mirrors, which combine one-dimensional Wolter optics, eliminate comatic aberration by satisfying Abbe’s sine condition, enabling achromatic X-ray imaging and highly stable X-ray nanoprobe formation. We will present the results of recent developments of AKB mirrors, including a full-field XAFS imaging system for spectroscopic nano-imaging and nano-CT, a high-flux focusing system for nano-resolution ptychography, and the development of sub-10 nm hard X-ray nanoprobe for next-generation storage rings such as SPring-8-II.
