Design and development of a laser beam propagation platform with adaptive-optics functionality (Conference Presentation)
In this presentation, we discuss the design and development of our outdoor propagation system (OPS). The purpose of this system is to develop a platform that enables regular beam-control-related experimentation. Specifically, our OPS will have both tracking and adaptive-optics functionalities. With such a system, our intention is to be able to experimentally explore (1) the effects of different atmospheric turbulence environments on beam-control systems and (2) beam-control solutions that best combat the deleterious effects on laser system performance caused by the atmosphere.
