Single-Pass Amplification of Ultrashort Pulses in Cr:ZnSe Gain Element Pumped by Radiation of Q-switched 1645 nm Er:YAG Laser

We present a Cr:ZnSe amplifier pumped by a 1 kHz Q-switched Er:YAG laser for single pulses picked at 1 kHz from an 80 MHz Cr:ZnS Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser. An amplification gain of ~ 716 was achieved with pulse energies of 4.6 µJ.

Abstract

We present a Cr:ZnSe amplifier pumped by a 1 kHz Q-switched Er:YAG laser for single pulses picked at 1 kHz from an 80 MHz Cr:ZnS Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser. An amplification gain of ~ 716 was achieved with pulse energies of 4.6 µJ.
