Tracing Group & Phase Velocities of THz Surface Plasmon Polaritons in Graphene by Near-field Spacetime Imaging

Field-resolved subcycle terahertz near-field microscopy enables direct spatiotemporal mapping of polariton dynamics in graphene, yielding group and phase velocities as well as damping. Femtosecond control of non-equilibrium polariton propagation is achieved by optical excitation.

Abstract

Field-resolved subcycle terahertz near-field microscopy enables direct spatiotemporal mapping of polariton dynamics in graphene, yielding group and phase velocities as well as damping. Femtosecond control of non-equilibrium polariton propagation is achieved by optical excitation.
