Tunnel Ionization in Nanogaps by Ultrafast Bright Two-Mode Squeezed Quantum Light

We demonstrate tunnel ionization in plasmonic nanostructures driven by ultra-fast twin beams with a mean 10 10 photons/pulse. Together with joint probability measurements of photons and tunneling current, this opens access to extreme nonlinear quantum optics.
