Few-level-transitions aspects in high-harmonic generation from solids

Besides lightwave-generated spatial displacement, electron–hole pairs can undergo internal few-level transitions. Our theory–experiment analysis reveals that high-harmonic generation in solids can arise from these multi-level transitions occurring on attosecond time scales.
