Topological Vertical-Cavity Lasing Based on Soft-Matter

A low-threshold circularly-polarized topological laser is demonstrated, in a verticalcavity surface-emitting geometry of one-dimensional optical superlattice (stacked polymerized cholesteric-liquid crystals and Mylar films). Such a laser exhibits unique features, particularly in flexible beam steering.

Abstract

A low-threshold circularly-polarized topological laser is demonstrated, in a verticalcavity surface-emitting geometry of one-dimensional optical superlattice (stacked polymerized cholesteric-liquid crystals and Mylar films). Such a laser exhibits unique features, particularly in flexible beam steering.
