Sub-nanosecond All-optically Reconfigurable Photonics in Multimode and Multicore Fibers

We demonstrate sub-nanosecond all-optical reconfiguration of a probe in multimode and multicore fibers. The cornerstone is a mechanism of dispersionless multi-phase-matching, enabling programmable mode control, core- to-core routing and remote characterization within the same platform.

Abstract

We demonstrate sub-nanosecond all-optical reconfiguration of a probe in multimode and multicore fibers. The cornerstone is a mechanism of dispersionless multi-phase-matching, enabling programmable mode control, core- to-core routing and remote characterization within the same platform.
