Large Mid-Infrared Nonlinear Absorption in Plasmonic Nanocrystal Superlattices

We demonstrate strong saturable absorption in monolayer superlattices of tin-doped indium oxide plasmonic nano-crystals. The demonstrated architecture offers low-fluence saturation and large ON/OFF ratios, for low-cost, scalable, and wavelength-flexible optical switching in the mid-infrared.

Abstract

We demonstrate strong saturable absorption in monolayer superlattices of tin-doped indium oxide plasmonic nano-crystals. The demonstrated architecture offers low-fluence saturation and large ON/OFF ratios, for low-cost, scalable, and wavelength-flexible optical switching in the mid-infrared.
