Integrated photonic Galton board and its application for photon counting

We present a photonic Galton board for on-chip observation of single-photon interference statistics. The device features a directional coupler matrix linked to a super-conducting nanowire detector array, enabling spatiotemporal resolution and photon-number resolving capabilities for high-speed photon counting.

Abstract

We present a photonic Galton board for on-chip observation of single-photon interference statistics. The device features a directional coupler matrix linked to a super-conducting nanowire detector array, enabling spatiotemporal resolution and photon-number resolving capabilities for high-speed photon counting.
