Absolute Temperature Measurements Using Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Gases

We demonstrate that Brillouin scattering in gases offers predictable temperature-dependent frequency shifts, being attractive for absolute temperature sensing, even in the cryogenic range, due to its higher optical gain and enhanced sensitivity at low temperatures.
