Terahertz Wave Amplification by Time-boundary Effect in Huygens’ metasurface
We demonstrate a novel method for achieving tunable terahertz wave amplification using a time-variant Huygens’ metasurface. By imposing a time boundary through ultrafast carrier injection, we observed an anomalous THz transmittance exceeding unity at frequencies determined by the relative delay between the time boundary and the seed terahertz pulse.
