Direct Comparison Between Bulk and Surface Nonlinearities of Gold Using Surface Plasmons

We introduce a technique to directly compare the nonlinear properties of gold in a nanophotonic platform, contrasting the third-order nonlinearity arising from the bulk with the second-order nonlinearity resulting from surface asymmetry.
