High-power MUTC-PD for low-noise photonic microwave generation using optical frequency comb

We demonstrate high-power modified uni-traveling carrier photodiode (MUTC-PD) for low-noise photonic microwave generation using a stabilized optical frequency comb. The phase noise of the generated 10-GHz microwave carrier is −156.4 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset.

Abstract

We demonstrate high-power modified uni-traveling carrier photodiode (MUTC-PD) for low-noise photonic microwave generation using a stabilized optical frequency comb. The phase noise of the generated 10-GHz microwave carrier is −156.4 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset.
