Retro-reflecting Coherent UWOC System Based on MEMS Grating Modulator

A modulating-retro-reflector-based coherent underwater wireless optical communication system using MEMS grating modulator is proposed and experimentally verified, which can achieve BER below the FEC limit at the maximum channel attenuation of 14.56 dB.
