189 Mbit/s near-infrared optical wireless communication through crude oil medium

We demonstrated, for the first time, a near-infrared-based optical wireless communication through crude oil medium. Leveraging the transparency in the near-infrared region, a data rate of 189.3 Mbit/s based on orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing was achieved.

Abstract

We demonstrated, for the first time, a near-infrared-based optical wireless communication through crude oil medium. Leveraging the transparency in the near-infrared region, a data rate of 189.3 Mbit/s based on orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing was achieved.
