Optical Sensing of Single Aerosol Motion in an Optical Trap

In this study, we demonstrated the initial trapping of aerosols using a dual-beam optical trapping system. The system employs two counter-propagating beams to stably capture aerosols. Preliminary results show effective confinement with position stability better than 1µm, providing a promising foundation for integrating the system with cavity-enhanced spectrometer for sensitive spectral sensing of their physicochemical mixing states.

Abstract

In this study, we demonstrated the initial trapping of aerosols using a dual-beam optical trapping system. The system employs two counter-propagating beams to stably capture aerosols. Preliminary results show effective confinement with position stability better than 1µm, providing a promising foundation for integrating the system with cavity-enhanced spectrometer for sensitive spectral sensing of their physicochemical mixing states.
