O posicionamento discursivo feminista na tradução

The aim of this work is to try and analyse the feminist discourse positioning in the translation of the book Our bodies ourselves – OBOS (1971) into Brazilian Portuguese, as Nossos corpos por nós mesmas (2021). We based this research in the Feminist Translation Theories (Flotow, 1991; Castro, 2017; Castro e Ergun, 2020) and in the French Discourse Analysis (Maingueneau, 1998, 2008). We analyzed selected parts presented by Medeiros (2023), in the original and the translation, to verify the possibility of legitimation from the feminist positioning in the translated work. We believe this paper may contribute for a stronger proximity and relation between the fields of Translation Studies and Discourse Analysis. Lastly, we noticed that the book translation, as a whole, usually follows a positioning we can consider feminist, looking for non-normalized solutions, such as the use of the feminine and more “neutral” expressions, even though there are some oscillations in the pattern.
