Developing an IoT-Based Cognitive-Motor Training Program Using BlazePod to Enhance Executive Function in Elementary Ice Hockey Players

The purpose of this study was to develop a executive function and physical integrated training program for elementary school ice hockey players using Blaze Pod, an IoT-based visual-response training device. To achieve this, the program was systematically developed based on the ADDIE model, consisting of five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In the analysis phase, the characteristics of the learners and the functional capabilities of the Blaze Pod device were reviewed. In the design phase, training objectives were established to stimulate core executive functions, including inhibition, working memory, and cognitive flexibility. During the development and implementation phases, six training sessions were constructed, comprising warm-up and main exercises tailored to the developmental needs of young athletes. In the evaluation phase, the program's structural validity and practical feasibility were examined through real-world application. This study demonstrates the potential of an IoT-integrated training program in promoting cognitive engagement and physical activity among youth athletes and provides foundational insights for future applications in digital sports education environments.
