Questionnaire-Based Ergonomic Validation of Dynamic Color Design for Engineering Equipment

This paper proposes a Dynamic Color Framework for Engineering Equipment (DCF-EE) to address the limitations of static color schemes in complex dynamic operational scenarios, including insufficient visual saliency, high misoperation rates, and poor human-machine ergonomic coordination. To validate the ergonomic advantages of dynamic color schemes, a low-cost questionnaire-based controlled experiment was designed. Participants performed simulated tasks (e.g., emergency braking, parameter adjustment, and multi-level hazard warnings) through a virtual interface. Cognitive load and color usability were evaluated using the NASA-TLX scale and Likert scale. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework significantly improves emergency braking response time, reduces misoperation rates in low-illumination environments, and enhances human-machine collaborative safety. These findings provide critical insights for promoting the standardized design of intelligent construction equipment.
