Trajectory Planning and Simulation Study of Switch Mold Robot Grinding
In the field of electronic switch production, switch molds are commonly used, characterized by curved structures with a high demand for surface roughness. Currently, the surface treatment of switch molds heavily relies on manual grinding, which poses challenges such as low efficiency and inconsistent surface accuracy. This study proposes automating the grinding process of switch molds through robot offline programming as a replacement for manual grinding. To address the issue of sanding trajectory planning for intricate surface switch molds, a trajectory planning method is introduced. This method focuses on achieving equal residual height and equal chord length errors to determine the step length and line spacing for grinding. Moreover, enhancements are implemented to tackle the problem of sparse line spacing resulting from significant surface curvature variations. The trajectory planning simulation for the switch mold is carried out using an independently developed offline programming software based on the VSCode C++ platform. The simulation outcomes demonstrate the viability and reliability of the trajectory planning, serving as robust evidence to support its practical applications.
