Response surface method-based 3D printing process optimization for Polylactic acid materials
Polylactic acid (PLA) 3D printed items were optimized mechanically by the application of response surface methodology (RSM). One-factor testing and the RSM approach were used to systematically examine and test the effects of printing layer thickness, printing angle, filling density, and printing temperature on the tensile strength of PLA specimens. The optimal set of process parameters to increase the tensile strength of PLA specimens was found with the aid of Design-Expert software for ANOVA and parameter optimization. This provides a theoretical foundation and useful direction for the process optimization of 3D printed PLA material parts.
