The Structural Relationship Between Grit, Self-Efficacy and Active Aging among Elderly Participants in Physical Activity

This study aimed to investigate the structural relationship between grit, self-efficacy and active aging among elderly participating in physical activity. To accomplish the purpose of this study, 222 surveys collected from sports centers, senior leisure and welfare facilities in Jeonbuk Province and Seoul were analyzed. For data analysis, SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 18.0 were employed to conduct frequency, reliability, and correlation analyses, along with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The main outcomes of the study are presented below. First, grit had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Second, self-efficacy had a positive effect on active aging. Third, grit had a positive effect on active aging. Fourth, the relationship between grit and active aging was mediated by self-efficacy.
