METHODS OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY APPLIED IN DENTISTRY (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Medical institutions aim to provide high-quality healthcare. In this regard, to improve the quality of diagnostics and treatment planning, it is essential to emphasize the importance of digital technologies used in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Research Objective: To analyze the application of digital technologies in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, demonstrating their significant advantages. The focus is on enhancing accuracy, reducing treatment time, minimizing the risk of errors, and improving patient experience through digital approaches. Materials and Methods: For the study, a literature search was conducted in Russian and English for the years 2020–2025. Approximately 100 publications were identified using specific keywords. After eliminating duplicates, the list was reduced to 63 publications. From these, 40 were selected for detailed analysis. The articles were analyzed considering the latest technologies applied in the medical field. Results: The literature analysis revealed the necessity of integrating digital technologies into dentistry, particularly in surgical dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Modern technologies require continuous professional development, contributing to the improvement of both theoretical and practical knowledge. One of the key findings is the lack of literature on the application of digital technologies; most publications focus on traditional treatment methods, which may increase risks and complications. This underscores the need to develop and publish guidelines on the use of digital technologies in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Conclusions: Digital technologies continue to play a crucial role in diagnostics and treatment, helping optimize the work of medical professionals and ensuring a high level of safety and quality of care for patients.
