СOMPARISON OF THE FREQUENCY HEMODYNAMICALLY SIGNIFICANT СORONARY ARTERY OBSTRUCTION BETWEEN THE PATIENTS WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE AMONG ASIAN AND EUROPEAN ETHNIC GROUPS

It is well known that such risk factors as dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension (AH), diabetes mellitus (DM), smoking, obesity have a major impact to the development of coronary heart disease (CHD). Foreign researchers describe the influence additional risk factors as ethnicity. There is great scientific interest in studying the risk factors of coronary heart disease and their impact on the coronary artery condition, taking into account the age, gender and ethnicity of patients in Almaty, which is the largest megopolis in Kazakhstan with a multinational, multiethnic population. Aim: To compare the frequency of hemodynamically significant coronary artery obstruction between the patients with Coronary heart disease among Asian and European ethnic groups, using the example of Almaty city. Material and methods. As a result of screening, 640 people were included in the study: 476 men, 164 women. Patients were divided into two groups according to ethnicity: Asian (n=338: m-252, f-86) and European (n=302: m-224, f-78). All patients were examined according to the one program, which included determination of cardiovascular risk factors, lipid profile, blood glucose, and providing selective coronary angiography. Results. After conducting a comparative analysis of the frequency occurrence of cardiovascular risk factors between the group of Asians and Europeans according to gender and age, statistically significant differences were obtained only in the middle age groups of men and women (“50-59 years” and “60-69 years”): more in Europeans than in Asians (p<0.05). Similar results were obtained for the frequency occurrence of hemodynamically significant coronary obstructions (50% or more), i.e. in men and women of European nationality more often than in Asian ones, namely, at the age of "50-59 years" and "60-69 years": in the group of men "50-59 years" (58% versus 43%, p=0.01), "60-69 years" (72% versus 51%, p=0.002); in the group of women aged "50-59 years" (58% versus 44%, p=0.031), at the age of "60-69 years" (69% versus 52%, p=0.012). Conclusion. The hemodinamically significant coronary artery obstruction were more frequently found in men and women of European ethnic groups than Asians at the age of «50-59y.» and «60-69y.» (p<0,05). While no significant differences between ethnic groups were found in the age groups «40-49 y.» and «over 70 y.» (p>0,05).
