Global research output in encephalitis: A scientometric analysis

AbstractThe present study has analysed nearly the growth of research publications during the study period from 2013 to 2022 with a sample of 32,487 articles published in the field of Encephalitis with the maximum number of research papers, 4,339 (13.36%), was published in the year 2021, The research publications with the highest number of citations are those with 101,129 (13.40). The RGR of articles has sturdily decreased starting from 2.47 in 2014 and reaching 0.14 in 2022. Simultaneously, the time required for an article to double in publications has progressively increased, going from 0.28 in 2014 to 5.11 in 2022. In author Dalmau, J. from the United States holds the highest number of the publications, contribute 120 (13.56%), the majority of the articles were published in Medicine (24,247 or 48.44%) research publications, a maximum of 22,617 (69.62%) research publications are contributed by the distribution of document type. The time series analysis application is anticipated in Encephalitis research papers to be about equal to 4,858 in 2025 and approximately equal to 5,824 in 2030. At that point, a thorough investigation proved that there is a growing tendency in the papers on Encephalitis research publications. The institutions according to the analysis, the Inserm published the most articles, with 551 (15.00%) research publications, the PLoS One with 414 (13.33%). The United States contributed the most articles, amounting to more than 9,102 (33.15%) of the total publication. The highly cited paper in Encephalitis with the highest citations in of Olesen, J., Bes, A. et al. (2013) The International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition (beta version), Cephalalgia, 33(9), 629-808 with 5,968 citations and document type of article.
