General overview and features of the use of the Steel Beasts combat simulation system
The article is devoted to the analysis of the Steel Beasts combat simulation system, which is used to train military specialists in Ukraine. In the conditions of the rapid development of information technologies, the use of such programs in military educational institutions and centers becomes critically important for the formation of military personnel's competencies. Steel Beasts is a commercial product that combines virtual and constructive simulation, available for the Windows platform. The system allows you to simulate combined arms combat tactics at different levels, from an individual crew to the brigade level. The article discusses in detail the stages of working with Steel Beasts: planning, execution and debriefing. Each stage has its own characteristics and advantages. At the planning stage, users can create and edit scenarios for training exercises using integrated editors. Scenarios are executed in real time, with the ability to control units and use artificial intelligence to simulate real combat operations. The debriefing stage provides the opportunity for a detailed analysis of the actions taken, which increases the effectiveness of training. Steel Beasts is already actively used in Ukraine for training commanders, officers and sergeants, as well as in military units for planning combat operations. The use of the system confirms its effectiveness, in particular in reducing the cost of ammunition and improving the quality of training. The article emphasizes that Steel Beasts can become the basis for an integrated training system that meets the modern requirements and conditions of the functioning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
