Modern approaches to small arms application for enhancing fire training effectiveness
Based on an analysis of the specific organization of fire training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, this article proposes approaches for implementing innovative technologies in the use of small arms to increase the effectiveness of training for future law enforcement officers. The research aims to improve pedagogical technologies for fire training by integrating small arms and modern simulators to ensure safety, enhance efficiency, and bring training closer to real service conditions. The work extensively utilizes an analysis of regulatory documents and pedagogical approaches, as well as the results of practical exercises using short-barreled small arms, laser shooting ranges, interactive simulators, and specialized trainers that model real operational situations. The study combines visual, verbal, and practical teaching methods. It's established that the use of small arms allows for safely forming stable motor and psychological skills, increasing stress resistance, and improving the accuracy of cadets' actions in dynamic conditions, bringing them closer to reality. Alongside this, interactive simulators and laser shooting ranges contribute to resource savings, risk reduction, and improved coordination and reaction of trainees. Recommendations are substantiated for forming stable practical skills in handling weapons under stress and operating in confined spaces. Promising directions for further research in this area may include developing adaptive training programs with intensive use of computer simulators, improving simulators for imitating complex operational scenarios, and studying the impact of psychological factors on shooting effectiveness in confined spaces. Implementing such technologies will contribute to improving the quality of training for law enforcement officers in performing their duties in real conditions.
