The Impact of Audiovisual Design in VR Guidance Systems on the Positive Experience of User Excursions

VR guidance systems, as one of the important applications of VR technology, its audiovisual design has a direct impact on the tour experience and satisfaction of users. Drawing from Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT), we examine the influence of VR attributes in the context of audiovisual designs for guided tours. Specifically, we investigate how elements like perceived entertainment, usefulness, and interactivity affect positive experiences of users, employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to gauge the extent of this impact. Further, we empirically propose a strategy to break the limitations of the conventional guidance systems through the optimization of audiovisual elements, the enhancement of interactive functions, and the provision of personalized services in VR guidance systems, so as to provide users with a more immersive and personalized touring experience. We not only help to improve the functional effectiveness of VR guidance systems, but also stimulate desire of users for exploration and participation, further enhancing their satisfaction.
