Deep Learning and New Employees' Self-Deprecation

With the development of the economy, education, and society, the number of new employees is increasing. They bring innovation and vitality to organizations and help cope with market competition. However, new employees also face uncertainty and insecurity when joining an organization and need to quickly complete the socialization process to create value. Previous studies have mostly focused on the factors influencing new employee socialization from an organizational perspective and their proactive behaviors, with less attention paid to negative behaviors such as self-deprecation. This study focuses on the self-deprecating behavior of new employees, applies the theory of emotion appraisal to explore its negative impact on the organizational socialization process, and analyzes how leaders' emotions change in response to new employees' self-deprecation. Using deep learning models for sentiment analysis of relevant literature data, we find that self-deprecating behavior affects both positive and negative emotions of leaders towards new employees.
