Assessment of the possibility of implementing an intelligent system for control and diagnostics of printed-circuit assemblies based on thermal imaging method

Operations of control and diagnostics of printed assemblies of radio electronics are still poorly amenable to automation. Tasks on detection and correction of malfunctions of mounted printed units are still solved by manual skilled labor of the controller, which is a bottleneck of the whole process of production of printed units. Appearance and attempts to implement modern thermal imaging methods of control and diagnostics in combination with intelligent methods of visual information processing, gives the opportunity to partially automate the process of control and diagnostics of printed circuit units, to make it faster and more rational due to the preliminary detection of simple and frequently occurring faults by thermal imaging method with the subsequent redistribution of printed circuit units between inspectors with different levels of qualification. The results of simulation modeling of the process of control and diagnostics of a batch of printed circuit units in cases with and without the use of preliminary control on the basis of thermal imaging method are presented, showing a noticeable reduction in the time of the process of control and diagnostics in the first case. The simulation model given in the article can be used for development of recommendations on creation of real, partially automated systems of control and diagnostics of printed assemblies.
