RESULTS OF STUDYING THE ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF BARLEY AND WHEAT CEREAL

The possibility of using the accelerator drum of the threshing device of a combine harvester for separating the stripped heap in order to extract free grain from it is considered in the article. It is indicated that a significant change in the composition and main characteristics of the incoming heap can lead to a radical change in the principle of interaction with it of the beaters of the accelerator drum. It is noted that in order to optimize the process, a more in-depth study of the physical and mechanical properties of the heap, in particular, the elastic properties of the grain grains, is advisable. 170 grain grains of barley of the Nadezhny variety and 150 grains of wheat of the Moskovskaya 56 variety. Each grain was dropped from a height of 123 mm onto a steel plate 25 mm thick were subjected to study. The process was recorded using video filming and the exact rebound height was established. The resulting distribution of grain grains by rebound height ranges was tested for compliance with the normal law using the Pearson criterion. A negative result was obtained, since the distributions have a pronounced asymmetric character with a shift towards a lower rebound height. It was found that most of the kinetic energy of the grain accumulated as a result of the fall does not transform into rebound energy, but dissipates into interacting bodies. As a result, the internal structure of the grain is transformed at the micro level, up to its partial or complete destruction. The high degree of differentiation of the rebound height from 2 to 59 mm in the experiment can be explained by the preliminary interaction of the grains with the beaters of the threshing drum during harvesting. It is advisable to provide the surfaces of the beaters in contact with the grain with an elastic coating when reorienting the accelerator drum to separate the combed heap.

Abstract
