Benefits and roles of AI in the end-to-end optical system design process
Artificial intelligence model shows us just how brilliantly those engines can reproduce tasks. So, it's legitimate to wonder how our field (or any fields) might be affected in the future and particularly the field of Optical Design Automation. However, integrating AI requires prerequisites, such as robust databases, advanced technical skills, and a dedicated computing infrastructure to handle complex algorithms. In the presentation, I will provide a few examples of automatic design using AI, to which extend it can be used including what if we did use generative AI to guide a lens design process. The advent of AI may introduce transformative approaches to this field enable new methodologies in both design exploration and optimization of solutions.
