Anomalous Nernst Effect Measurements and Assessment of Thermal Parameters in Epitaxial FeCo Thin Films

This study presents an experimental investigation of epitaxial Fe75Co25 thin films, focusing on their magnetic and thermal properties, as well as their thermoelectric response via the anomalous Nernst effect (ANE). Magnetic behavior was examined through ferromagnetic resonance and vibrating sample magnetometry, which revealed the presence of anisotropies. ANE measurements were performed by applying a thermal gradient perpendicular to the film and an in-plane magnetic field. A comprehensive thermal model, incorporating interfacial thermal resistances, enabled accurate estimation of the system’s thermal parameters. The measured anomalous Nernst coefficient was 1.59 μV/K, indicating the material’s potential for spin caloritronic applications.
