How does AI Impact Human Behaviour? The Interplay among Research, Design, and Policy Perspectives
As Artificial Intelligence systems become increasingly embedded in our daily lives and activities, their influence on human behaviour is profound in multiple levels but the emerging complexities make it challenging to investigate. This keynote talk explores the multifaceted ways AI shapes our decisions, learning, development and societal norms. By bringing together scientific evidence from behavioural research on Human-AI Interaction, design practices in the development of (embodied) AI systems and policy recommendations for responsible approaches to AI, the talk highlights the interdependencies among these domains in understanding and shaping the impact of AI on human behaviour. Based on specific use cases in these domains, the talk will highlight how synergetic approaches are essential to ensure AI technologies align with human values and public good.
