The Advancement of 3D Printed Metals in Prosthodontics

The integration of three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies and prosthodontics have attained significant advancements in the fabrication of dental prosthesis. Due to excellent precision, biocompatibility and mechanical properties 3D metals emerged as a promising option in restorations. 3D printed metal prostheses provides good accuracy and customization, this allows for patient-specific designs by enhancing comfort, fit, longevity, osseointegration, stability and functionality. The additive manufacturing process in prosthodontists gives greater options in design modifications and improvements. Cobalt-chromium alloys and titanium are the commonly used metals in prosthodontic procedures like crowns, bridges and implants. It also reduces patient appointments and waiting time by optimising prosthetic outcomes. Overall, the integration of 3D printed metals in prosthodontics encounters a significant paradigm shift by providing a new era of precise, personalized, precise, and patient-centric prosthodontic solutions.
