DIMENSÕES GLOBAIS DA INDÚSTRIA 4.0 E SEUS IMPACTOS NA GESTÃO DAS OPERAÇÕES PRODUTIVAS

The present discussion addresses the impact of Industry 4.0 on the production and distribution of consumer goods and services, highlighting the growing customization of these offerings to meet the specific demands of each customer, while also promoting significant gains in productivity, quality, and efficiency. Thus, the general objective of this paper is to analyze how Industry 4.0 affects operational management efficiency and productivity through a literature review on the subject. Industry 4.0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, refers to the automation of industrial processes through advanced technologies such as cybersecurity, autonomous robots, and system integration using artificial intelligence. This integration allows machines, equipment, and databases to be connected, facilitating faster and more accurate decision-making, increasing the chances of success. Organizations that are already ahead in adopting these technologies have been able to implement and optimize their processes effectively. The goal of this paper is to analyze and describe the pillars supporting Industry 4.0 and the transformations brought about by this model in the context of productive operations. Conversely, industries that fail to adapt to the demands of Industry 4.0 will face difficulties in keeping up with the competition, risking obsolescence.
