Síntomas de disfunción del piso pélvico en mujeres practicantes de CrossFit®

Objective: To analyze the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction in women who practice CrossFit®. Methods: Descriptive, observational, explanatory, and cross-sectional field research through a survey of 120 women CrossFit® practitioners from the northern area of Anzoátegui state in February-September 2022. Results: 49.2% of the women are at the beginner level (escalating), 35% at the advanced level, and only 15.8% at the higher level. The escalated and advanced level presented severe urinary symptoms in 50.6% and 49.4% respectively. Jumping exercises were associated with the majority of symptoms “double jump rope” with 26.72% and “box jump” in 17.59%. Urine loss stood out in 93.3% and vaginal lump sensation in 44.1%. The Hellen routine, performed by 81.6%, was associated with severity of symptoms. Conclusion: Severity of urinary incontinence and symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction was associated with a trajectory of less than 4 years, CrossFit® escalation classification, fewer training days, the Hellen routine and exercises that included jumps such as “double jump rope” and “box jump” with statistical significance of p <0.01
