Preparation and performance of low-cost and high-active transition metal alloy catalysts for improving the performance of zinc-air batteries
Abstract With the scarcity of traditional coal-fired resources and the intensification of environmental pollution, new clean energy has emerged. In response to the high-cost and limited manufacturing materials of electrochemical catalysts for zinc-air batteries, this study investigates the performance of zinc-air batteries by introducing transition metal alloy catalysts. The study first takes various reagents and experimental equipment to prepare low-cost and high-active transition metal alloy catalysts, and physically and electrochemically characterizes the lattice structure of the alloy catalysts. Finally, different catalysts are applied to test the performance improvement of zinc-air batteries. The experimental results showed that the FeCo exhibited a significant peak change at 77.59 °C. The current loss value of the FeCo was relatively small, with a current value of only 354 mV. In the practical analysis, the power density of the FeCo alloy catalyst reached 129.7 mWcm −2 , significantly higher than that of other catalysts, and the average open circuit voltage reached 1.35 V. Overall, the low-cost and high-active transition metal alloy catalyst can greatly improve the performance and practicality of zinc-air batteries, providing a technical reference for related research.
