Joint Clearing Mechanism and Economic Evaluation of Energy Storage Participation in Spot-Frequency Regulation Market Based on Two Stages of SCUC-SCED
Under the background of the rapid development of the electricity spot market and the frequency regulation auxiliary service market, how to fully utilize the superior technical performance of energy storage and coordinate its dispatch with thermal power units to maximize economic benefits has become a significant topic of research. This paper addresses this problem by constructing a two-stage SCUCSCED market optimization framework, realizing the joint clearing of electricity and frequency regulation capacity, thus minimizing the system generation cost, realizing the efficient allocation of electricity, improving the economic performance of energy storage. The results of arithmetic example based on the proposed model show that under the dual-market linkage, energy storage is prioritized to be dispatched in the frequency regulation market, taking up $87.57 \%$ of the frequency regulation demand, and the revenue gained from frequency regulation can be up to about $86 \%$ of the total revenue.
