Secure Software Development Life Cycle and Transmission Cyber Security in B5G With LEO Satellite Networks
The evolution from 5G to 6G brings significant improvements in communication speeds, spectrum efficiency, and network intelligence while integrating Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks to achieve global coverage. However, this also introduces new cybersecurity challenges, including software vulnerabilities in the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) and cyber security threats in B5G with LEO satellite networks. This study examines SSDLC and transmission network cyber security challenges for LEO satellites, emphasizing potential threats and the importance of security in Beyond 5th generation mobile networks (B5G)-LEO integrated networks. Key risks analyzed include software vulnerabilities, unauthorized updates, and supply chain attacks for SSDLC, alongside eavesdropping and fake node attacks in transmission. Recommendations are proposed to address these challenges, offering insights for enhancing the cybersecurity management of LEO satellite networks and ensuring the secure integration of 6G and LEO systems.
